Our Mission & Vision

Modern problems require modern solutions. Alkebulan, our African waste-to-value initiative, recognizes that. Promoted by three successful industry veterans, Alkebulan, aims to render sustainable energy solutions to Kenya and beyond. All the while balancing broader economic, social and societal challenges facing our world today. Alkebulan deals with green fuel initiatives that help locals with skills and economic development and also focus on Kenya’s fundamental constitutional right to access to clean energy and healthy environment. Our vision and mission focus on three main pillars:

We aim to change the world through cleaner fuel and better development. We work to eliminate the usually touted trade-off between economic growth and environmental
degradation. The environment, our society and our people; all need an upgrade to better, greener and more sustainable life alternatives for fuel and lifestyles.

Recycle & reuse waste

By using raw materials that would otherwise fill up landfills, we kill two birds with one stone. We resolve waste disposal issues that come with agro and forestry waste while offering the world a greener, more economically viable and sustainable fuel in its stead.

Low-cost sustainable fuel

By using agro and forestry raw materials, we ensure their inexhaustible supply and their low-cost procurement. The fuels derived from our processes thus cost way less than traditional fuel alternatives, and it is also easy to scale up production.

Social upliftment

Adopting the concept of circular economy. we create a cost-benefit chain throughout our production process. The players that supply us with raw materials get back benefits too. Such as low-cost fuel and cattle fodder, societal initiatives like medical facilities, and empowerment initiatives like jobs and skills development.

Women’s empowerment

Women are the backbone of any society. Acknowledging that women are traditionally the hardest workers, and yet also the most marginalized, we empower them with jobs and skills through strategic social investments.

On a Waste to Value Mission

Waste Reduction Technologies

In line with our climate mitigation objectives our team of experts have strategic plans to make green fuel from waste. We keep our facilities close to businesses that supply us with feeder materials, and ensure that most agricultural, animal and human waste that would otherwise endup into landfills gets delivered to us instead. It forms a part of what we call ‘our inexhaustible raw material resource’.

Our state-of-art facilities combine modern technologies with smart automation. From raw material processing to production and delivery, technology and automation have made our systems streamlined and efficient. So much so that our facilities are far superior to others in the industry, and they allow us to scale up efficiently and speedily as needed.

Society as a Stakeholder

We do not think of ourselves as just a green business. We think of ourselves as community stakeholders tasked with the responsibility of uplifting locals from the rut of low skills, low employability, and low income. Our impact areas are not just the environment, but rather the people around us, especially women.

Awards and Achievements

We know we have a good thing going because our products and processes serve the environment and our people. Our certifications and awards validate our capabilities and intent to those who do not know us yet. Alkebulan’s facilities and products are ISO 14001 certified. Other patents and trademarks have been applied for and are in process. Our application is also for a Carbon Credit Certification – VER.
